A lo cubano - photography exhibition by Matt Scandrett
London, 3 September 2010 - 12 September 2010
Ten years after his first visit, East London photographer Matt Scandrett returned to Cuba to see how the island had changed and document life in the days leading up to the fiftieth anniversary of the 1959 Revolution.
In twenty-five colour and black and white prints, A Lo Cubano aims to show life in modern day Cuba; from the young Olympic hopefuls training at the famed Rafael Trejo boxing gym and wise old men sat by their windows watching the world go by, to colourful Havana cityscapes and striking socialist murals which adorn the streets.
